How can I check a swap quote from a phone browser without missing hidden fees
Read the quote line by line, and compare the amount you will receive to the amount the market shows on a separate price tracker. That is the only reliable way to catch hidden fees that the swap interface might not display up front. A phone browser makes it easy to miss a buried deduction, because small text scrolls off the screen and fee breakdowns are often collapsed behind a toggle.

You send from your own wallet straight to the exchanger — nothing to connect, no account, and you stay on this page throughout. Rates are indicative until a swap is opened.
The swap is carried out by an independent exchanger and the deposit address above is theirs. WPay.sg never holds, receives or controls your funds, has no key to that address, and earns a referral commission. Opening a swap sends your receiving address, IP, browser and timezone to the exchanger for their compliance checks; we store none of it. Check their terms, fees and country restrictions before sending anything.
Start by opening the swap page on your phone browser. Enter the amount of tokens you want to send. The quote you see is a promise: you send X, you get Y. Do not assume Y is the net amount. Some swap interfaces show a gross figure first and subtract fees after you confirm. Others display the net amount but add a network fee that is not visible until the transaction is signed. To be sure, look for a link or button labelled "details", "info", or a gear icon. Tap it. The expanded view should list the exchange rate, the provider fee, and the network fee. If any of those numbers are missing, the quote is incomplete.
The biggest trap is the "rate" itself. A swap page might show a rate that includes a built-in markup of 2% to 5% above the real market rate. That markup is a hidden fee because it is baked into the number you see, not listed separately. To detect it, open a separate price tracker on your phone - CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, or any exchange aggregator - and look up the current market price of the token pair. Divide the amount you will receive by the amount you send. That gives you the effective rate the swap is offering. Compare it to the tracker. If the swap rate is worse by more than a fraction of a percent, the difference is a hidden fee.
Another common omission is the network fee for the token you are swapping into. Some quotes show only the fee for sending the source token. The receiving side might require a separate transaction fee, especially if the swap uses a non-custodial bridge or a two-step process. Read the confirmation screen carefully. If it says "fee: 0.001 ETH" but does not mention a fee on the destination chain, assume one exists and check the swap provider’s documentation.
Phone browsers also truncate long token addresses. The quote might be for a different version of the token - say, a wrapped version with lower liquidity and a worse rate - than the one you intend to swap. Scroll horizontally or tap the token name to see the full contract address. Compare it to the address of the token in your wallet. A mismatch means the quote is for a different asset, and the swap will give you a token you cannot use.
Finally, test the swap with a small amount first. Send a fraction of what you plan to swap. Wait for the transaction to confirm. Then check your wallet for the exact amount received. Subtract the known fees (network fees you paid) from the received amount. The remainder is what the swap provider gave you. Divide by the small amount you sent. That is the real rate. If it matches the quoted rate, the rest of your swap is safe. If it is worse, the interface hid a fee that only appears during execution.
Carbon credit tokens add an extra layer here. Their liquidity is often thin, and swap quotes can change drastically between the preview and the confirmation. If you are swapping a carbon credit token, the hidden fee risk is higher. Read the sibling page on mobile wallet swap mistakes with carbon credit tokens for the specific ways those quotes can mislead.
Do not rely on the browser’s back button after you see a quote. Some pages reset the quote to a worse rate when you navigate away and return. Screenshot the quote before you confirm. That gives you a record to compare against the actual blockchain transaction later. If the received amount differs from the screenshot, you have proof of a hidden fee. The swap provider cannot argue with a timestamped image of their own interface.
